Introduction to the Render Tree
What is covered in this training product?
In this training series we will be starting out with learning what shaders are and how to create shader networks using Softimage’s powerful Render Tree system. These basics will lead the way to creating more advanced shader networks that allow us to create many different materials. After learning all the basics of the Render Tree, we will exploit all of the powerful tools in Softimage in order to surface and shade several different projects.
You will create many different materials and learn what many of the shaders in Softimage do, all the while learning special techniques that are normally learned from years of surfacing and shading experience. You will be shown techniques that emphasize speed, efficiency, and ease. This training product includes all project files and assets needed to follow along with the instructor. Project files require Softimage 6.5.
